BIOGRAPHY & PURPOSE

Amanda Bridges is a healing folk artist and recovery advocate whose music centers around mental health, resilience, and belonging. Through intimate songwriting and vulnerable storytelling, her work opens dialogue surrounding mental health, substance use recovery, and connection.

Music has been part of Amanda’s life since early childhood. At just three years old, Amanda began learning piano by observing older students at her summer school program before formally beginning lessons at age six. Music was a central part of her identity from a very young age, but by 18 years of age, addiction gradually pulled Amanda away from it — a separation she described as “walking away from myself.”

After the loss of a close friend to suicide seven years ago, Amanda was faced with a life-altering ultimatum and chose to walk a path of recovery. Amanda has been working with music in a way that has transformed her pain into her purpose: creating music and gatherings that remind people they are not alone.

Influenced by emotionally raw and deeply human artistry of Beth Hart and Cameron Whitcomb, Amanda Bridges artistically blends advocacy for recovery from substance use, mental health and belonging with folk music. Her music explores themes of healing, transformation and connection — in hope that her listeners feel that recovery is possible.

Amandas recently released original song, Inspire Your Heart Fire, serves as an introduction to her larger advocacy-centered project This World Needs You, including an upcoming five-song album rooted in lived experience through mental health and substance use recovery. Her album This World Needs You will continue to be shared at gatherings that blend live performance, storytelling, open discussion, and community-based experiences to foster dialogue around healing, recovery, and belonging.

Amanda Bridges has performed at events including the Pyro Music & Arts Festival, Lions Gate Family Campout, Moonbloom Festival, Music is Art, and Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival. Amanda also is the founder of Ripple Effect Wellness Retreat and hosts a sober open mic on the first and third Friday of each month at The Rooted Cup in Lancaster, NY to help cultivate supportive creative community spaces.

At the core of Amanda’s work is a gentle message from the heart: this world needs you.
